The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty
From there he shall come to judge the living and the dead.

Over the past few weeks Jason has, in discussing the Apostles Creed, been teaching on the work of Christ. Being a summary of Apostolic teaching, there is much remaining to read and discover about the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus that is of great benefit. But these short lines about Jesus’ incarnation, death, descent, resurrection and ascension wrap their arms around the entire hope of the Christian life. Simply put: in Christ life is not futile, nor is death the end. As it has gone with Jesus, so also will it go for all who place their hopes in him.

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
